Sharing Friends Christmas Cards

I received some very creative hand stamped cards this year and want to share some of them with you. While not all product is Stampin' Up product, the cards are from my stamping friends with Christmas good wishes. Check back tomorrow for more cards from my friends.

Does it ever seem like a let down after Christmas. We are so busy decorating our houses, shopping, cooking, and partying and then Christmas day finally comes and so quickly it's over. I love all things Christmas so I don't take the tree down or undecorate the house until sometime after the new year although I know people who do that as soon as Christmas is over. I like it to last and last and last.

A Little Bit of Christmas

Merry Christmas 2013-001

This is a quick card I made using My Digital Studio. If you are not familiar with this ask me about it. It is filled with thousands of Stampin' Up! digital product to use to create cards, books, scrapbook pages and more.

I hope you all had a great Christmas filled with family, friends, and love. We had the most wonderful time. My son, Jason, my daughter, Lynn Ann, her boyfriend, Don, and my grandson, Alex, were here. We had a brunch of scrambled eggs over roasted asparagus, baked French toast, bisquits and sasuage gravy, bacon, and pastries. After opening presents we played the new game Left, Right, Center. If you have not played this and you like games you should get it. Such fun, no thinking involved, and all ages can play. One of the gifts Jason gave to Lynn Ann and I was a bag of assorted things. My bag had a bottle of wine, a canister of tea, and a bottle of vinegar. Lynn Ann's bag had similar items. He then said the items all had something in common. They were all French! He said he was going to prepare a French dinner for us the day after Christmas which he did. It was fabulous. He even brought over a DVD of a walking tour through Paris which we watched with an assorted cheeses and French crackers appetizer.

Here are a few more Christmas photos.

Christmas Misc Collage

The angel is my one attempt at Tole painting which I did about 20 years ago.

Nativity CollageI have several Nativity sets. These are just a few of them. The set in the upper right corner was the first one I bought almost 50 years ago.

Santa CollageI have about 100 Santas which are displayed throughout the house. When possible I have written the name of who gave it to me and year on the bottom. It's always such good memories when I put them out.

Vintage ornaments CollageThese are a few of my vintage ornaments. The little German man in the upper left corner was on my grandmothers tree when she was a little girl. And the soldier was from my dad's store when I was a young girl. The other glass ornaments were my grandparents.

Family Christmas CollageJason and Lynn Ann cooking the French dinner. My son, Jeff, Becky, and grandchildren, Sofia and Anderson from Lexington, KY. And the bottom picture is my grandson, Alex, daughter, Lynn Ann, and her boyfriend, Don. I gave them each a tin of homemade Chex mix. They all opened them at the same time and all immediately started eating it.

I have had a bit of a break from stamping during the past two weeks so I am anxious to get back to it and to start creating with some of the new products from the upcoming Occasions mini catalog which will be available beginning January 3rd. If you do not have one yet let me know and I will get one to you.

Naughty or Nice?

Grinch Tag

This is another tag from my Bags, Tags, and Treats class from a few weeks ago. It is made using several of the Stampin' Up punches and the sentiment is from a retired stamp set. The tag was cut using the Two Tags Die. It's a little had to see but the Grinch's nose is one of the feet from the Owl Punch. I have a few presents wrapped with this tag on them. Ha!

Last night a friend and I drove around town (with the top down on the car!) to look at Christmas lights. It was a beautiful night. This house is incredible. It belongs to friends of mine. If you live in Titusville and have not seen it you should. So worth the drive. It is in Lantern Park. Go to the end of Lantern Drive and take the last right.

Wintry Note Card

Stampin' Up's note cards are ready for you to make and send a card. There are 20 prescored cards and envelopes for just $5.95. The cardstock is a little thicker than regular cardstock and the card measures 5" x 3-1/2". The snowman on this card is from a retired stamp set, Snow Much Fun. If you don't have this stamp set you can recreate the card with a different stamp set. I stamped the snowman, colored it with markers, cut it out and popped it up with dimensionals. The square block image was done with an acrylic block. Just ink the block and press it onto the cardstock. The block becomes your "stamp". I like how the ink creates a splotched pattern.

Christmas Bag

This Christmas bag was from the Tags, Bags, and Treats class. I used the snowflakes from the kit which made a quick and easy assembly. We added some stamped tissue paper to match.

Small Christmas Bag

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Yesterday was an annual Christmas get-together with a few of my girlfriends for a hot dog cook out by the river and gift exchange. It was a little chilly and very windy but we had a great time. There's not much better than good friends and a hot dog cooked on a grill.
Christmas Treats
Below are some of the treats from my recent Tags, Bags, and Treats class.
Santa coffee Cup
My friend and demonstrator Betty Herring found a cup like this at a craft sale so she ordered some cups from an online restaurant supply company and we made some. I thought it was so cute I included it in my class. I filled mine with a little cello bag of chocolate and stamped a tag from A Banner Christmas stamp set.
Rudolph Treats
Do you recognize the Rudolph shape? Yes, it's the owl punch! I have seen more things done with that punch than any other Stampin' Up! product. This is Hershey nuggets wrapped with Designer Series Paper (1" x 3"). The antlers are a piece of a punched snowflake from a retired Stampin' Up! punch.
It's hard to believe that Christmas is just one week away. Are you ready? Of course I am not! I have wrapping to do and a few stamp projects to finish. But the shopping is all done. I love everything about Christmas, putting up the tree and decorations,  Christmas traditions, and church, and Christmas carols.  My tree is filled with ornaments, so many of them very old.  I have a Santa Claus collection which began about 30 years ago. The one in the middle of the mantle in the photo below is one my mother made for me about 20 years ago. It has the sweetest face and a backpack full of toys that you can't see. And the spider-looking tree top was my parents tree top they bought their first year after marriage and was on the tree every year. It is 72 years old. We always called it the spider and in it's day it was beautiful with shiny tinsel arms and red balls and red cellophane bells on the ends. The bells are long gone and it's not quite as shiny but it is my favorite Christmas treasure.
Wk. DealsThis weeks deals are good until December 23rd. While you wound not get these items before Christmas unless you select expedited shipping, think getting some things to have for next year. The gold and silver ink pads are just wonderful. And if you came to any of my banner classes you know what fabulous banners we did for Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. I'm thinking spring and Easter so you might want to get some of the banner pennant refill kits. These are in the Holiday mini catalog so I don't know if they will be available after January 2nd.
