The Winner is …. Plus Product of the Week

A big thank you to everyone who helped me celebrate reaching $200,000 in career sales by entering my giveaway drawing for the Falling for Leaves bundle. There were many who entered via the blog post and/or through my Facebook page. There were so many favorite stamp sets named but the one that got the most mentions was Lovely as a Tree. An oldie but certainly a goodie. And now the winner is …..

Product of the Week

For this week I selected a package of designer series paper that is absolutely beautiful. The photo in the catalog can not begin to show how elegant and shimmery it truly is.

It is part of the Frosted Floral Suite which also includes a stamp set, framelits, ribbon and embellishments. Because I just cannot buy everything, this is one suite where I made the decision to only purchase the designer series paper and use it with other product that I already owned. You’ll have to check back later in the week to see the card that I made with the paper.

Wild About You

The card today is the cute giraffe from the Animal Outing stamp set. The inspiration for the card came right from the annual catalog. I changed a few things and this is the card we did in classes this week.

One of the stamps is the sentiment Wild About You  but I really wanted the card to say Wild on the front and About You on the inside. One way to do that is to mask the words so that only the word you want is inked up. But using in a class with several people can become problematic so I simply cut the stamp in two. I do that sometimes with my stamps.

I do love the leaf ribbon which is perfect for this card. I used glue dots on the back of some of the leaves to hold it in place. By not putting a glue dot on every leaf it leaves some of them loose, almost like they are blowing in the wind.

Tip of the Week – Keeping up with your Dies

I don’t always get things put away immediately after I’ve used them and sometimes even start another project before the last one is cleaned up. That comes from being busy, tired, or on a deadline to get the next card done. That can lead to having things left out and then I don’t remember where they go. Then I wind up going through the catalog page by page trying to figure it out. If you’re like me then check out my video Tip of the Week.

Thanks for checking in and have a good week.

Woo Hoo! Goal Reached & Give-Away Announced

Several months ago I set a goal to reach $200,000 in career sales by the end of September. This is the total over my 15 years as a demonstrator. You might wonder why the end of September. Well it’s because October 1st is the beginning of a new Stampin’ Up year so I wanted to end the year with reaching this milestone.  I would also then be recognized at the OnStage international convention which is November 7th in Orlando. And it all comes with a nice bonus check from Stampin’ Up! I am so excited to have met that goal.

I am blessed and so very thankful for such wonderful and loyal customers and downline. So with that, and to keep this celebration going, I am having a drawing for a give-away.

Falling for Leaves Bundle

Again, with a grateful heart, thank you. I wouldn’t have reached it without you.

Tuesday’s Tip of the Week

No matter how careful I am with those little bits of cardstock that fall out of dies it seems like they wind up everywhere. Just like the paper backs from dimensionals.  I have discovered an easy way to clean them up.

Redeem Bonus Coupons this month!

If you earned any $5 Bonus coupons during the month of August remember you have to redeem them this month. Each $50 order in August earned one coupon. Stampin’ Up! would have emailed you a coupon code that has to be entered with an order this month to get the $5 discount.

If you order the Take Your Pick tool this month you will be entered into a drawing for a free putty refill.

Thanks for stopping by,

RACK UPDATE

The clearance rack was updated today with discounts up to 60% off. Supplies are limited so products will go quickly.

You can shop my online store here. Enter the host code if your order is below $150.

I have been watching the Emmy’s tonight. I love all of the awards shows however I don’t watch much TV anymore and it seems like half of the nominees and winners I have never heard of. I did love seeing Betty White making an appearance. She is amazing at 94 years old.

Happiness Is ….

I am in a special group and there was a challenge last week to clean up our stamping space and post the photos of before and after to the group. Now I can create a real mess when I’m stamping but what I realized from this group is that most people do. And not everyone cleans it up right away. That has been my problem partly because when I am being creative I don’t know when to stop and then I’m too tired or my back hurts or I have something else that has to be done. Any number of reasons for not cleaning up including it’s not fun to clean. So I thought I would share my before and after pictures with you.

This is the worst because when I don’t have time to clean and put away I shove things into the closet and then close the doors.

This photo was part of the cleaning out process which resulted in even more of a mess.

It was a huge task which took the better part of a day. Sorting through card stock and putting stamps back into their cases. Ugh! One thing that really helped was giving myself permission to throw away things I never use or small pieces of card stock.

Happiness is ….. a clean stamp space.

If you have a cluttered stamp space I challenge you to a clean-up. It feels great to have it organized and neat.

Hugs

My Top Holiday “Must-Haves”

Each new catalog I like to do my top 10 list. When it’s the annual catalog I do the top 10 stamp sets and then another list for accessories. Because the holiday catalog is so much smaller I decided to combine them but then I couldn’t limit it to 10 no matter how hard I tried. So here is my top baker’s dozen list.

Merry Christmas to All (p. 5)  This is a perfect word set for Christmas and the die cut words are beautiful. Such a pretty font.

Swirls & Curls Embossing Folder (p. 5)

Signs of Santa (p. 19)  When I first saw the catalog I thought this was cute but didn’t plan on ordering it. After seeing so many cute cards I did order it and it has become my favorite of all. Many of the framelits will cut out designs from the DSP too. I love that Stampin’ Up! is doing this with so many papers now. What is hard to see from the catalog is that the DSP has lots of white flocking on it. So darn cute!

Santa’s Workshop Memories & More (p. 21)  Memories & More packs aren’t just for scrap booking. They make quick and easy cards too. This is one of the best packs ever. For just $10 you get 50 cards in two sizes which includes sheets of stickers. Many of the cards are glittered. I will be doing a class using this pack along with the red coordinating envelopes. The class will be making 20 Christmas cards (you will have plenty of leftovers for other projects) and is $35.  More details to come on time and date.

Joyous Noel Designer Series Paper (p. 29)  Six of the sheets have beautiful copper foil accents on one side which coordinate beautifully with the glimmer paper below.

Joyous Noel Glimmer Paper (p. 29) I love that the new glimmer papers no longer flake off bits of glitter. The rich colors in this package coordinate with the Joyous Noel DSP

Take Your Pick (p. 30)  I highlighted this new tool in the previous post. It is amazing what all is included and what it can do and it’s only $10!

Timeless Tidings Project Kit (p.33)  Project kits are a quick and easy way to make a lot of cards. This designs in the set are beautiful. It coordinates with the Timeless Tidings stamp.

Buffalo Check Background Stamp (p. 38)  Doesn’t look like much here but it does make great backgrounds. I just haven’t had a chance yet to play with it.

Country Home Stamp Set (p. 43)  Another set I didn’t think I wanted until I started seeing card samples. Now I am in love with it.

Tin Tile Dynamic Impressions Embossing Folder (p. 43)  May be my favorite embossing folder of all time. Use our new Galvanized paper with it and it truly does look like an old tin tile ceiling.

Country Lane Designer Series Paper (p. 43)  What can I say, it’s the perfect paper to use with the Country Home stamp set.

Black Glittered Organdy Ribbon (p. 49)  I am a glitter girl. Love anything that sparkles and shines so this ribbon was a must.

What are some of your favorites?

I’m getting ready to go stamp and craft for four days with friends. It will give me the chance to start using some of the new holiday products without any distractions. Well, maybe a game or two of mahjong will be thrown in. We truly work from early morning until late at night crafting with mahjong breaks.
