I don’t know why I tend to go long stretches without posting but here I am again. The new annual catalog is live and I started doing some live workshops so actually have things to post. This card is using product from my favorite suite, Expressions in Ink, found in the new catalog on page 96. The suite is also what is featured on the front of the catalog.
The Expressions in Ink Specialty Designer Series Paper is gorgeous with one side of each sheet accented with gold. I chose the new In Color Polished Pink to pair with the DSP but Magenta Madness also goes with this piece. The gold leaves were cut from a piece of gold paper that had been attached to adhesive sheets and then die cut. Once cut you just simply pull off the paper backing from the adhesive sheet and the entire back of the die cut is sticky. No need to try to put tiny dots of glue on the back. An extra bonus is when you pull that paper off most of those cut out bits just pull right out of the leaves. No need to “poke” them out.

The annual catalog retirement list will be out Wednesday after 3 PM. Some things will be discounted and many things will sell out quickly, especially anything from the In Color family that will be retiring. If you have those color ink pads you may want to order additional re-inker and cardstock. The retireing colors are:
I always look forward to seeing what is going to retire and always have a few favorites that I hate to see retire. But if we didn’t have things retire there wouldn’t be room for new and that is even more exciting.
I will share the retiring list as soon as I can on Wednesday.
So last week I flew to Kentucky to see my son and his family. It had been 14 months since I had seen him and my granddaughter when they came to Orlando for a dance competition. It had been almost 2 years since I had seen my grandson and my daughter-in-law. Those first hugs were the best and I didn’t want to let go. It was way too cold for this Florida gal and rained a lot but so worth the trip.
Sofia is a senior and trying to decide on which college she will go to next year. She has applied and been accepted to so many it’s not going to be an easy decision. ![]()
Anderson (green shoes) is 14 and I was lucky enough to be there for a soccer game. It was so cold we watched from the car.
Because of my trip and being on two plane rides I am following CDC guidelines for air travel. Even with being vaccinated the recommendation is to have a rapid test 3-5 days after travel and self quarantine for a week. So I will be at home this week.
I missed posting February so I will post it along with March.
My youngest son had a birthday a few weeks ago. He loves donuts, in fact he had a donut cake a couple of years ago. So when I saw this card made by Connie Tumm I knew I had to make it for him. You can see her card here along with the list of punches used to create the donuts. I used a combination of punches and dies to make mine.
A friend posted a link on Facebook to Food & Wine with a list of the best donuts in every state. The best in FL is the Salty Donut in Miami. When I realized there was another location in Orlando (40 min. from home) I knew I had to get him donuts for his birthday.
The donuts truly are amazingly delish!
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.
This was my first card made with products from the new Spring mini catalog. I signed up for a demonstrator swap and made 9 of these. I have to say that all of the cards I received from the swap were awesome and no two were done using the same stamp set so I have some great samples.
The measurements for this card are:
I did emboss the Petal Pink cardstock with the Subtle embossing folder. When I stamped the ice cream and the cone I inked the stamp and then stamped off on scrap paper first to create a lighter color. The sprinkles are stamped full strength.
For the inside of the card I stamped Happy Birthday and a few sprinkles and added an ice cream cone cut out of the DSP.

Wow, how time really does fly. January is almost halfway through and this is my first post of the new year. What better way to begin the year with the CD calendar page for January. I knew I wanted to do snowflakes and use the beautiful balmy blue glimmer paper.
This was the only class I had since the pandemic began. So may of my customers wanted to make them so I scheduled numerous classes over several days and only allowed 3 people at a time in each slot. Masks were required and because of the small class size I was able to social distance them. It turned out a success and everyone was happy. I made 20 calendars this year for family and a few special friends. One of mine was suppose to go to a little town outside Cincinnati and when I checked the tracking information I realized it was being sent to Montana. I distinctly remember addressing the package with their name and address but what I accidentally did was put a different zip code on it. Thankfully when it arrived in Montana someone at the post office corrected the zip code and it arrived safely and a bit late.
Sale-a-Bration has started with free product with qualifying orders. If you don’t have a demonstrator and would like catalogs let me know.

During the recent virtual On Stage Stampin’ Up event Sara Douglas, CEO, shared some fun facts with us in the form of questions and answers so I thought I would share it with you. You’ll have to scroll to the bottom of the post to see the correct answers.
#1. Which of the following stamp sets do you think was most popular last year?
Dressed to Impress
Thoughtful Blooms
#2. How many packs of cardstock were sold last year?
#3. What was the top color sold?
(answers will be at the end of the post)
Here’s a fun Christmas gem I found on the internet:
T’was a Month Before Christmas 2020
T’was a month before Christmas and all through the town,
People wore masks that covered their frown.
The frown had begun way back in the Spring, When a global pandemic changed everything.
They called it corona but unlike the beer, It didn’t bring good times it didn’t bring cheer.
Contagious and deadly this virus spread fast, like a wildfire that starts when fueled by gas.
Airplanes were grounded travel was banned,
borders were closed across air sea and land.
As the world entered lockdown to flatten the curve, the economy halted and folks lost their verve.
From March to July we rode the first wave, people stayed home they tried to behave.
When summer emerged the lockdown was lifted But away from caution many folks drifted.
Now it’s November and cases are spiking, Wave two has arrived much to our disliking
Frontline workers, doctors and nurses,
Try to save people, from riding in hearses.
This virus is awful, this COVID-19,
There isn’t a cure, let’s hope for vaccine.
It’s true that this year has had sadness a plenty, But we’ll never forget the year 2020.
And just ‘round the corner, the holiday season, But why be merry? Is there even one reason?
To decorate the house and put up the tree, when no one will see it, no-one but me.
But outside my window the snow gently falls, and I think to myself, let’s deck the halls!
So, I gather the ribbon, the garland and bows, As I play those old carols, my happiness grows.
Christmas ain’t cancelled, and neither is hope.
If we lean on each other, I know we can cope.
Now for those answers:
#1 Thoughtful Blooms
#2 1.8 Million
#3. Misty Moonlight
Did you guess them correctly? I didn’t. I missed the top cardstock color.
Have a great week.
Beth
Well here we are – it’s the last month of 2020. It has certainly been a different year and many will be glad to see it gone. This calendar page was an easy one because it has a punch to go with the stamp set, Perfectly Plaid. And it is still available (and the push too) in the annual catalog.
Our weather took a giant turn and we woke up to 40 something this morning. I’m not exactly sure how low it got but it’s currently 48 degrees at 10:30 am. For us in FL that is cold. So what do you do when it’s that cold ….
I do love a nice, cozy fire and it looks so much better since I painted the bricks white.
I started decorating and managed to get two trees up with lights a few days ago but no ornaments yet. The tree in my living room is probably about 25 years old and no matter what I do I can’t get it straight and I can’t find one I like to replace it so I just think of it as a Charlie Brown tree leaning a bit. It’s so tall it’s a two ladder job to get it decorated.
Enjoy this nice weather and come back soon.
