Magical Day Mermaid Center Easel Card

I have classes this week which feature Fun Fold cards, also called Fancy Fold. This easel card was easy peasy and is just so cute. I love, love, love the Magical Day stamp set with coordinating framelits and can’t believe it is retiring. You can get this stamp set, framelits and Designer Series Paper now but better hurry as items are selling quickly due to being on the retiring list.

  • Start with a half sheet of cardstock – 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″
  • Score in half at 4-1/2″
  • Turn paper (short side) and score each side at 1-1/4″ only to the mid score line
  • Fold over the middle section between these flaps and crease with a bone folder.
  • Adhere the two flaps to the bottom of the card

The cut and scored piece should look like this.

What is not easy to see in the photo of the card is the glittery sparkle on the pieces of Designer Series Paper on the two side flaps and the Wink of Stella I added to the mermaid body.

OnStage Atlanta & a few Sneak Peeks

It’s been over 2 weeks since I went to Atlanta to the Stampin’ Up OnStage event and I’ve just been either too busy or too lazy to post anything. This is the event where we receive the upcoming new annual catalog so needless to say I have been spending a lot of time pouring over it and making out a wish list.

I am very excited with this catalog. So many stamp sets and new products that I love. I will have catalogs available the end of May for my customers and for those of you who don’t live locally I will send you one. If you are not one of my regular stampers and would like a copy just let me know.

One of the perks of reaching the title of Silver Elite is you are invited to attend what is called CentreStage, a special event the night before OnStage begins. We had a delicious buffet dinner, several new product spotlight presentations, make and takes, display boards filled with samples, and more. We were given our event bag when we checked in which held the first of several new stamp sets we received. It also had a set of the new InColor markers and this light box which has been fun trying out different messages. I finally put up my blog name.

This is the 321 Stamp group. It’s always fun to share these events with friends.

The gift I gave to my downline was made with the Magical Day stamp set and coordinating framelits and the silver gable box. I put in a small hand sanitizer, a Starbucks gift card, and of course a few wrapped chocolates.

Retiring Lists & Color Revamp

Today’s the day the retiring lists came out. You can access the lists by clicking on the links below.

There is what Stampin’ Up is calling a Color Revamp. That is a significant change in the Stampin’ Up colors. There have not been any core color changes since 2013. The Color ReVamp in a nutshell is:

Keeping 27 of the existing core colors
• 13 core colors are going away
• Adding 10 new core colors
• Adding 6 returning In Colors that will now be core colors (colors offered in the past that will now be available again)

This is how that looks:

The New Revamped Color Families

While I am sad to see a few of my favorites leaving I am thrilled that there are even more of retired favorites coming back. Super excited to have Mossy Meadow, Blackberry Bliss and Coastal Cabana back. And I still have my ink and some cardstock. Also coming back are Mint Macaron and Poppy Parade.

As my upline, Catherine Harwood, said:

Changes can be confusing — but don’t worry. This will all seem like old news in a few months.

If you do have questions or concerns please contact me via phone or email.

Time to Stock Up on Retiring In Color Products

While the new catalog won’t be out until June the current catalog retiring list will be out very soon and that means some things will sell out immediately. Retiring In Color products sell out right away so if you have any of these ink pads you might want to get an additional ink refill or two and coordinating card stock or other products BEFORE that list comes out. There is usually no discount in the price so it pays to get them now.

These are the colors that will be leaving us. I have heard discussions with people wondering if Stampin’ Up might do a color refresh with the new catalog. If that was the case there is a slight possibility that one of these colors might stay but that would be a very slim possibility so if you want any of these color products I encourage you to get them now. I am putting in an order March 31st if you would like to get anything.

I’m not a huge sports fan however I do like a little basketball. I especially loved going to games when my grandson was in high school and on the basketball team. My family and I are all huge University of Kentucky Wildcat fans and while I don’t watch games during the season I always watch March Madness because the Cats are usually playing. They have now advanced to the Sweet Sixteen. If they win this bracket they will advance to the Elite Eight followed by the Final Four. I sure hope they go all the way. UK’s men’s basketball team is the winningest program in the history of college basketball. They lead all NCAA schools in all-time winning percentage (.762) with an all-time record of 2111–661 and have won 8 NCAA national championships.

Go Big Blue!

Their next game is Thursday night at 9:30. That’s PM! Ugh. Might have to take a nap that afternoon.

I just have to share how serious March Madness basketball is in my son’s home. He and his wife both are such fans that this is how they keep up with it all. Side by side tv’s.

Have a great week

3″ x 3″ Magical Day Notecards

I love making small 3″ x 3″ notecards. They are perfect to use along with a gift or make a set of them and give as a gift. I was super excited when the 3″ envelopes were brought back so I bought several packages of them just in case they wind up retiring them again. I made a set of them using the Magical Day stamp set with coordinating framelits when I was at the girlfriends crafting get-away last week in Georgia.

I do plan on decorating one of the mini pizza boxes as they are the perfect thing to put these in.  The Stampin’ Blends were used to color the stamped images and each card has spots of Wink of Stella added to give it that magical sparkle.  Parts of each card are popped up with dimensionals. (the knight, the unicorn, the flame and the wizard) Each Blends color is available in both a light and a dark marker. For the dragon and the knight I used both the light and dark markers. For all other coloring I used just one marker which I have indicated on the list below. There is a 10% discounted bundle which includes both the stamp set and the framelits however I have listed them both as a bundle or as singular items. Note that the stamp set also comes in wood mount.

New Sale-a-Bration Items Added March 15

Wow, thank you Stampin’ Up! Round 3 of SAB items have been added. What a great way to end Sale-a-Bration with even more FREE products to choose from with your order of $50 or more.

I do plan on placing a last order on March 31st so let me know if there is anything you would like to order.

Here are two cards recently made in my stamp classes using Lots of Lavender featured in the first set of released items. All previously released items are still available and you can see them by clicking on the SAB link under catalogs on the right.

This card was inspired by Michelle Last. You can see her card here. I loved the added silver glimmer paper I used as a mat. You can see some of the flecks of glitter that fell off on the bottom of the card. If I had realized it I would have brushed them off before taking the photo.  (smile)  I used the new Stampin’ Blends to color the flowers instead of using the stamp in the set to add color. The Blends are my favorite way to color. I did use a retired embossing folder on this card.

This next card using the same stamp set was inspired by Lea Denton. Her card can be seen here. I never would have imagined turning the flower stamp upside down to create wisteria. There is so much creative thinking and inspiration all around.

I needed an Easter card for classes and pulled out a retired, but favorite, sentiment for this card. It is popped up with dimensionals. What you can’t see in the photo is the Wink of Stella shimmer that was added to the flowers.

February CD Calendar

My goal this year was to try to post the CD calendar sheets on the first of the month … and I’m not doing too well. When I turned January over I realized I didn’t have a February one at all. Then I got busy and forgot about it. So here it is on the last day of the month.

Check back tomorrow for March’s CD calendar.
