Honey Bee 3″x3″ Cards

One of my favorite sets in the mini catalog is Honey Bee. I was thrilled when one of the SAB free items was the Golden Honey designer series paper (it was so popular it has already sold out). Stampin’ Up! makes it so easy to create cards with their coordinating products.

I have a bingo event next week with a bee theme so look for another post later with more photos of the all that fun. This is a sneak peek at one of the make and takes. I decided to play along this week with Global Design Project’s theme of flutter and fly.  #GDP231

I love little 3″ x 3″ cards. A set makes a great gift and you can still mail one if you put it in a regular envelope. A quick and easy way to say “I’m thinking about you”.

Thanks for stopping by and keep those hands washed. (smile)

February CD Calendar

February is the month of love and romance and flowers and candy. On occasion I have received flowers on Valentine’s day and there was one special year I remember well. I was working at the hospital and was walking the hall on the 2nd floor overlooking the atrium and noticed several flower arrangements at the front desk waiting to be delivered. There was a sea of red flowers and in the middle of all that red was a big bouquet of yellow roses. They really stood out and were quite beautiful. A short time later they were delivered to me.  I never much cared for red roses and have always thought yellow much prettier. I can still picture that vase of yellow flowers surrounded by all the red flowers.

Happy February to you. Hugs

Happy New Year!

Somehow last year just flew by and here we are in 2020. Seems like only a short time ago we were ushering in the year 2000. Do you remember all of the concerns regarding things crashing back then? I was still working in the hospital laboratory and it was crazy all of the documentation we had to go through to make sure our instruments would still be working. We even purchased headlamps in case electricity went out. Yep, crazy.

I have been making CD calendars for years and this is my page for January. I don’t generally make resolutions but I am going to try to remember to post the calendar pages at the beginning of each month this year.

Someone asked me yesterday if I missed snow and the answer is YES! Growing up in Iowa, winter was definitely a wonderland. So even though I’ve lived in Florida over 50 years I have never adjusted to not having snow at least for Christmas.

There are just a few days left to order from the Holiday Mini catalog. January 3rd begins the new and exciting mini catalog along with Sale-a-bration. What’s better than free stamps and product? With each $50 in orders you earn free goodies. If you would like to come stamp with us let me know. I have a group that meets once a month at my house and we rotate hostesses who can earn free product based on the orders that month.

Thanks for stopping by and Blessings in 2020

A Wonderful Christmas

I hope everyone had a blessed Christmas with family and friends. I hadn’t posted much lately as I caught the bug that seems to be going around and spent a couple of weeks sick with zero energy. That put my Christmas shopping and decorating and stamping at a standstill. Thankfully I recovered last week and managed to get everything done and we had a wonderful time.

I put up two trees, one with the tiny white lights and a smaller one with the old fashioned colored bulbs and bubble lights. They are in two different rooms but I can see both of them from where I usually sit.

I love everything about Christmas, the traditions and the memories that come to mind as I decorate. I have many, many old ornaments on my tree. Some belonged to my parents and some to my grandparents. And I have some antique toys that I put under the tree. These two dolls belonged to my grandmother when she was a little girl. They are about 110 years old.

And this doll was mine when I was a little girl so it is about 65 years old. My mother made the clothes she is wearing.

We had our family Christmas yesterday afternoon with a big dinner, some games, and of course presents although we don’t do as much as we’ve done in years past. But we always manage to have a great time together.  Christmas is always fun when there are little ones and our Owen is 8 this year. When I asked him last month what he wanted for Christmas he said a telescope, a green telescope. Amazon never fails. I actually found a green one there. And he loved it.

One favorite tradition and memory of Christmas is my dad singing in church. For as long as I can remember he sang Night of Nights in church at Christmas. Growing up it was just tradition. When I became older and moved away I often returned “home” and so was able to hear him sing what had become my favorite Christmas song. But I wasn’t always able to be there so one year for my birthday he made a tape singing this song and every year I play it. He passed away 9 years ago and when I was listening to it Christmas Eve it was almost like having him back. What a very special gift he gave me.

Happy December

And just like that it’s December! It is so true that the older you are the faster the year goes by.  I recently finished two days of classes for next years CD calendar. It is one of my more popular classes every year. I am still working on my own CD calendars for next year (I am making 16 – will I ever get done?)

Here is the December calendar from this year:

And because I know I didn’t post the last several months pages here those are:

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. And for those who went Black Friday shopping let me just say there is no way I would get out in that mess. (smile) I did go Friday with friends to see the movie It’s a Wonderful Day in the Neighborhood and highly recommend it.
