Pierced Blooms

Today’s card is from my “I can’t buy it all” class. It uses the set of dies, Pierced Blooms, I bought but opted not to buy the coordinating stamp set, In Bloom, because I have so many flower stamp sets. Honestly I may have never noticed just how wonderful these dies are by looking at them in the catalog. After I started seeing cards other people had made I realized every die has stitching.

For the class I put out 20 of the dies and lots of bright colored cardstock and they had enough flowers to decorate the front and inside of the card.

Have a Blessed day

Plentiful Plants

I love plants but I don’t have a green thumb by any means and when a plant died, usually from overwatering it, I would just go buy another one. To my surprise I have a few indoor plants that have survived a few years now. When I saw the Plentiful Plants stamp set in the new annual catalog I loved it and it was on my first order list.

A beautiful hand made card is the perfect way to say “thank you”.

One of the things I love about this bundle is the plant hangers. They remind me of macrame which was so popular in the 70’s. Everyone, including me, made their own macrame hangers. I believe it has regained popularity.

PLENTIFUL PLANTS BUNDLE (ENGLISH)

This was my first time using the Tasteful Textures embossing folder and I love the subtle texture it gives.

Alex chose not to walk for graduation so no cap and gown photo of him.

Have a wonderful day

My Birthday Week

I just recently had a birthday and it seemed to go on and on with time spent with lots of family and friends.

I was treated to a pre-birthday lunch with my friend Catherine. We always have lots to catch up on and it was good to actually spend time with her.

The actual day of my birthday (Saturday) my daughter Lynn Ann and I went to the Brevard Zoo. A few years ago it was named one of the top 10 zoos in the country by USA Today. Most animals have lots of room to roam “free” and many of them are rescues.

If you look closely you can see a baby kangaroo in the mother’s pouch. The legs and an ear are sticking out.

I love the giraffes and it’s such fun to feed them. The zoo has 6 giraffes.

Then Sunday my friend Donna treated me to lunch after church with our friend Jan joining us.

MondayI finally got together with my best friend for a relaxing few hours sitting on the beach. We had not seen each other in 15 months.

Tuesday another celebration with my daughter, grandson, and my son Jason and his family. We met at a restaurant which is sometimes easier as he lives about 40 miles south of me.

My grandson, Owen,  watching while I opened a few gifts from him.

Jason and Allison

Owen took this photo – not too bad for a 9 year old.

On to the next day, Wednesday, and Epcot with my friend Jim.

The week finished with a birthday celebration and cake with my Mahjong gals, Debi, Sandra, and Evelyn but I didn’t get any photos from that day. And then there was a visit with my friend Rosemary to the new Buc-ees up in Daytona by the Tanger Outlets. It’s an amazing gas station and store. Huge!!!

This was an incredible week. I am blessed with wonderful family and friends.

I’m Back!

I don’t know why I tend to go long stretches without posting but here I am again. The new annual catalog is live and I started doing some live workshops so actually have things to post. This card is using product from my favorite suite, Expressions in Ink, found in the new catalog on page 96. The suite is also what is featured on the front of the catalog.

The Expressions in Ink Specialty Designer Series Paper is gorgeous with one side of each sheet accented with gold. I chose the new In Color Polished Pink to pair with the DSP but Magenta Madness also goes with this piece. The gold leaves were cut from a piece of gold paper that had been attached to adhesive sheets and then die cut. Once cut you just simply pull off the paper backing from the adhesive sheet and the entire back of the die cut is sticky. No need to try to put tiny dots of glue on the back. An extra bonus is when you pull that paper off most of those cut out bits just pull right out of the leaves. No need to “poke” them out.

Last Chance – Retirement List

Last-Chance-Prodcts-Annual-Catalog-2020-2021

Things to remember:

  • Only available while supplies last. Some things sell out quickly
  • Be sure to pay attention to anything that has 3 or 4 asterisks and read what those mean at the bottom of the list.
  • Bundles always retire even though the associate stamp set and dies or punch may still be available.
  •  “Reconfigured” means just that. It’s not really retiring, just a change, most likely the item number.
  • Nothing from the mini catalog is retiring yet. Those products are good through June.

You can order through my online store HERE.

Retirement List Coming Wednesday

The annual catalog retirement list will be out Wednesday after 3 PM. Some things will be discounted and many things will sell out quickly, especially anything from the In Color family that will be retiring. If you have those color ink pads you may want to order additional re-inker and cardstock. The retireing colors are:

I always look forward to seeing what is going to retire and always have a few favorites that I hate to see retire. But if we didn’t have things retire there wouldn’t be room for new and that is even more exciting.

I will share the retiring list as soon as I can on Wednesday.

So last week I flew to Kentucky to see my son and his family. It had been 14 months since I had seen him and my granddaughter when they came to Orlando for a dance competition. It had been almost 2 years since I had seen my grandson and my daughter-in-law. Those first hugs were the best and I didn’t want to let go. It was way too cold for this Florida gal and rained a lot but so worth the trip.

Sofia is a senior and trying to decide on which college she will go to next year. She has applied and been accepted to so many it’s not going to be an easy decision.

Anderson (green shoes) is 14 and I was lucky enough to be there for a soccer game. It was so cold we watched from the car.

Because of my trip and being on two plane rides I am following CDC guidelines for air travel. Even with being vaccinated the recommendation is to  have a rapid test 3-5 days after travel and self quarantine for a week. So I will be at home this week.

CD Calendar – February & March

I missed posting February so I will post it along with March.

My youngest son had a birthday a few weeks ago. He loves donuts, in fact he had a donut cake a couple of years ago. So when I saw this card made by Connie Tumm I knew I had to make it for him. You can see her card here along with the list of punches used to create the donuts. I used a combination of punches and dies to make mine.

A friend posted a link on Facebook to Food & Wine with a list of the best donuts in every state. The best in FL is the Salty Donut in Miami.  When I realized there was another location in Orlando (40 min. from home) I knew I had to get him donuts for his birthday.

The donuts truly are amazingly delish!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Sweet Ice Cream

This was my first card made with products from the new Spring mini catalog. I signed up for a demonstrator swap and made 9 of these. I have to say that all of the cards I received from the swap were awesome and no two were done using the same stamp set so I have some great samples.

The measurements for this card are:

  • Blackberry Bliss – 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ scored at 4-1/4″
  • Blackberry Bliss – 3-1/2 x 4-1/4″
  • Petal Pink – 4″ x 5-1/2″
  • DSP – 3″ x 4″ cut into 1″ strips

I did emboss the Petal Pink cardstock with the Subtle embossing folder. When I stamped the ice cream and the cone I inked the stamp and then stamped off on scrap paper first to create a lighter color. The sprinkles are stamped full strength.

For the inside of the card I stamped Happy Birthday and a few sprinkles and added an ice cream cone cut out of the DSP.
