Delightful Daffodils

I have been neglectful in posting lately and so I am going to try to catch up and do better. (Smile) Sometimes life just gets in the way. Does that ever happen to you?

I have seen several different cards online with these cute daffodils and knew I had to make one. I love daffodils and, living in Florida, it is one of the many flowers I miss so much.

DaffodilsI had to create a template for the flower pot. I drew the base of it freehand and the top is punched using the word window punch. The centers of the flowers are just dots using the writing end of a marker. The fringe scissors not only make great grass, a few extra snips and I had the stems for the flowers.

Stamps: Woodgrain, Label Love

Paper: Crumb Cake, Soft Suede, Gumball Green, Daffodil Delight, White

Ink: Crumb Cake, Soft Suede, Gumball Green, Calypso Coral Marker, Soft Suede Marker

Misc: Fringe Scissors, Artisan Label Punch, Petite Petals Punch, Boho Blossom Punch

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day,

Special Treats

I always have grab bags at my open house. Everyone gets one and the contents are a surprise.  Items that may have been included were ribbon, washi tape, markers, and more. I also made some special treats using the new In Colors.

chocThis little treat has two wrapped chocolates inside. It is made using the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch and Blackberry Bliss and Hello Honey cardstock.

Tea holderAnd this tea bag holder features Hello Honey and Lost Lagoon new In Colors. The Designer Series Paper is from the Moonlight Paper Stack. I love those paper stacks. You get 48 sheets of 4-1/2" x 6-1/2" paper for the low price of $6.95.

Sea Street

One of the stamp sets demonstrators could pre-order was Sea Street and so I ordered it, along with some of the new Maritime Designer Series Paper. It is such a cute set and I love the color combination. I decided to use it for the make and take at my open house and to go with that theme for the snacks.

I made two versions of the card. One like this with the octopus cut out and popped up with a dimensional. The other version was for those stampers who really just do not like to cut things out. In that one the octopus was stamped on the white cardstock panel. Either one turned out so cute and several people put in an order for both the stamp set and the paper.

I kept that Maritime theme going in the kitchen too with the snacks. I like to fancy up the water bottles when I have an open house and it was another good way to show off this wonderful paper.

There was such a crowd here and I was either too busy or too distracted so I didn't get the pictures I was planning on taking.

Stop back tomorrow and I'll share more open house projects,

Have a Blessed Sunday,

Here Fishy, Fishy

Fish

I love By the Tide stamp set and it is perfect for making masculine cards. The background is embossed using the polka dot embossing folder which is the one I use more than any other. The coral is stamped using Soft Sky ink which gives a very subtle background behind the fish. I stamped the fish on Coastal Cabana cardstock with Island Indigo ink and then sponged some Old Olive ink lightly over it. Quick and easy. Done in about 10 minutes.

Stamps: By the Tide, Itty Bitty Banners

Ink: Soft Sky, Island Indigo, Old Olive

Paper: Island Indigo, White, Coastal Cabana, In Color DSP

Misc: Polka Dot Embossing Folder, Sponge, Dimensionals

3 Wise Owls

I saw this card online and just loved the owls and knew I had to make it. I don't know who to give the credit to. I made a few changes to my card.

3 owls

The grass is done using the fabulous Fringe Scissors. The top owls wings are the wing from the bird punch. The middle owls wings are a punched scallop oval cut in half both directions. The bow tie is 2 punched hearts from the owl punch glued sideways with a pearl on top. I used some retired Designer Series Paper. It was a fun card to make.

Although today is my actual birthday, the celebrations began last week with a breakfast get-together with some of the gals in my Great Outdoors stamp group followed by what else, stamping! I was showered with some wonderful hand stamped cards which I want to share.

Last night in my stamp class I got more cards and Mike baked a cheesecake from a recipe from The Cheesecake Factory and Pat brought wine. The cheesecake was yummy and of course, the wine was good too.

Here are more of the cards I have been getting from friends all week.
