Patriotic Paper Pumpkin Fun

I've mentioned My Paper Pumpkin before … the monthly paper crafting subscription kits from Stampin' Up. I fell in love with the kit we got in June. It was all of the supplies to make 24 patriotic pinwheels. Now while I thought the pinwheels were really cute, I didn't know what I would do with 24 of them so I quickly looked for other ideas. The internet and a Google search can help you come up with some great ideas and I am always amazed at so much creativity. This is what was in the kit:

Here is the card we made using supplies from the kit:

And look what Terri Peabody made from the kit. She followed the instructions from demonstrator Mary Fish. It has a big Hershey bar inside.

And one more …. I used one of the pinwheels and created this door prize which Cheryl won:

I filled a vase with red and silver wrapped Hershey kisses and put some punched out Glimmer stars on the bottom of some of them.

Part of the fun with a Paper Pumpkin subscription is the surprise every month. And now you can order prepaid subscriptions.

Starting with June 2014's kits, new subscribers will receive the current month's kit along with a clear block instead of the Welcome Kit SU! was previously sending all new subscribers. This means you'll be getting the latest and greatest kit and projects relevant to the time of year. The block that will come with your kit is a new thinner version that works perfectly with the photopolymer stamps.

Just order the subscription length of your choice, and you’ll receive a redemption code where you can use it to redeem your subscription on mypaperpumpkin.com

Item Paper Pumpkin Prepaid Subscription Price (Shipping Included)
137858  1 month $19.95
137859  3 months $59.85
137860  6 months $113.70 — save $1 per month
137861  12 months $215.40 — save $2 per month

How It Works

  1. When your place your order, you will receive an e-mail with instructions on how to redeem the prepaid subscription.
  2. Go to www.mypaperpumpkin.com and enter the redemption code.
  3. Start enjoying your monthly Paper Pumpkin project kit the very next month!

Tips

  • It is encouraged to enter your payment information when redeeming the prepaid subscription so you'll get to continue receiving their monthly kit after the prepaid subscription ends. (But you won't have to put in their payment information if you don't want to.)
  • This option IS available to current My Paper Pumpkin Subscribers.
  • Each Paper Pumpkin account can only use one redemption code at a time. For example, if you buys two six-month prepaid subscriptions, you'll enter the first code and then after six months you can enter the second code.

Q&A

Q: Can a current My Paper Pumpkin subscriber order a prepaid subscription?
A: Of course! After they order and enter the code, the prepaid months will be used up before any future shipments are charged. When the prepaid months are over, the subscription will continue and be charged monthly to the credit card on file. Keep in mind that if a current subscriber is already attached to a demonstrator, the existing subscription will remain with the original demonstrator.

Q: Can I buy a prepaid subscription with hostess benefits/stampin' rewards?
A: Yes. A prepaid subscription can be added to either the free or half-priced hostess items.

Q: Can a prepaid subscription be ordered as a gift?
A: Yes. Although this isn't officially a gift subscription program, you or your customers can buy a prepaid subscription and give it as a gift. You'd just purchase the prepaid subscription and when you receive the redemption code, share it with the recipient of your choice who can redeem the subscription at www.mypaperpumpkin.com. One thing to keep in mind is that the redemption codes will not work across borders. (So, someone in Canada could not gift a subscription to someone is the US and vice versa.)

Q: What happens when a prepaid subscription is not redeemed?
A: Codes will expire after three years (two years for California residents). At that time they will be turned over as unclaimed property.

Off to Convention!

I wrote this blog post earlier today and then couldn't find it so I am rewriting it. Maybe I didn't save it. Who knows. I have been busy, busy getting everythig ready to leave for convention. I look forward to Stampin' Up convention every year. It's one of my favorite trips. I'm all packed and ready to go. There are 14 of us in our local group going. Us and thousands of other demonstrators. You all know I always take swaps. It's not required but it's such fun. You make cards or card fronts and then just swap them with other demonstrators. As many as you take will be how many different ones you will bring home. I love seeing all of the ideas and creativity. I have taken as many as 200 in years past but this year I am only taking 70. The good thing is most people will let you take a photo of a card when you see something fantastic and have run out of anything to swap.

For my card swap this year I made a double slider card and used a couple of new stamp sets. Flamingo Lingo is the new Ronald McDonald stamp set. Living in Florida, I especially love the flamingo. If you buy this set Stampin' Up donates $3 to Ronald McDonald House Charities. The other new set is Flower Patch.

Family Visit

Last week my son and family were here from Kentucky. My granddaughter, Sofia, who is eleven, was in the Dance Masters of America National Competition in Orlando so I was back and forth every day watching the dancing. There were 1400 performances (no I didn't see all of them). Sofia was in several group dances from her dance studio plus two solo dances. On Friday awards were presented. It was the Best of the Best, 123 performances selected from the 1400. She won first place in one of her solos. So very proud of her. The top performances in each of the ten categories were then selected to go on to the grand finale and one of the group dances she was in won the top award. Her dance studio, Diana Evans School of Dance, from Lexington, KY rocked it this week with numerous Platinum awards too.

We spent so much time watching dancing I just have to say what a trooper my grandson, Anderson, 7, was. He didn't complain and was just so good. Having games on an IPod certainly helped entertain him. But our last day we were there almost 12 hours and he finally gave up and fell asleep. Earlier in the day his mom took him to throw coins in a fountain. She asked him if he made a wish. He did … that he wouldn't have to watch any more dancing!

We did manage a short trip to the beach, his dad took him to Legoland one day, and the day before they left to go home we took him on an airboat ride. He had an ear to ear grin on that ride.

They left yesterday to head back home. And now I am getting things ready to head to SLC for Stampin' Up convention.

I just realized that I never posted the last three months of this years CD Calendar so here they are. I having been doing this special class every year now for several years and it's a favorite of many of my customers. I'm so grateful to my upline, Catherine Harwood, for updating and posting the PDF templates for each month. She has just posted the templates for 2015 on her blog. You can see them here.

Happy 4th of July Card

Happy 4th

Here's a quick and easy patriotic card. The layout would be great to use for a birthday card by just substituting the age of the of the recipient or an anniversary card by using the number of years married. And you can easily substitute any color combination.

Have a Blessed day,

Headed to Washington DC!

I wanted to share my good news. This week I earned my very first Stampin' Up Incentive Trip, the Getaway Vacation.  It is a 4 day, all expenses paid trip for me and a guest (my daughter is going with me) to Washington DC the end of September.   I'm super excited to have achieved this and want to thank you, my amazing customers, and the wonderful SU! demonstrators in my downline that promoted this past year. You have all helped me reach this goal!

Getaway2014_demo_Aug1513_NA

So now if any of you have any recommendations on what to see and do be sure to let me know. I have only been to DC for one day on two different occasions and spent that day at the museums at the Smithsonian.
