Weekly Deals and a Cute Snowman

There are some great deals this week: WD10

The Perfect Pines Framelit Dies coordinate with Peaceful Pines stamp set and the Snow Flurry Punch coordinates with Flurry of Wishes stamp set. We recently made this card in class which I cased from Georgeann Manning. I made just a couple of tinly changes to my card. Isn't this snowman just the cutest!

red snowmanThe tiny white snowflakes are retired product form last year but since I had so many I thought they went well with this card. The two stamped snowflakes are on one stamp and when you punch them out they punch out as two. I cut the snowman's head out using a circle framlit die and then cut about 1/3 off the bottom.

It's a little hard to think snow living in Florida. We are still having temps in the upper 80's and high humidity. Ugh! I'm ready for some cooler weather.

Wild About Flowers

This is such an easy peasy card and appropriate for just so many different occasions.  I was inspired by Dawn Olchefske. She created it with  cardstock in shades of browns and used a different ribbon so I changed it up a bit and came up with this version. The stamp set is Wild About Flowers and I used Pool Party, Pear Pizzaz, and Lost Lagoon cardstock panels on a Sahara Sand mat and then attached it to Early Espresso card base.

3 Flowers

For the inside of the card I used one of the many sentiments included in the stamp set.

The Flower Medallion Punch coordinates with the Crazy About You stamp set from the annual catalog and with the Flurry of Wishes stamp set from the Holiday mini catalog. It is algo great used by itself to punch out flowers to be used with other projects.

Have a great day and happy stamping,

Fall Leaves

This card was inspired by LeAnn Greff over at her blog, Flowerbug 's Inkspot. I never wouId have thought to put these colors together as I tend to go with traditional fall colors when I'm using leaf stamps. I made some little changes in my card.

While I have been making quite a few fall cards it still doesn't feel much like fall yet here in Florida. I went back to DIsney again today and by mid afternoon it was a little warm. But, all in all, another fun day. We went to Epcot and headed straight to the back and hopped aboard a boat and went to Hollywood Studios where we spent a little time. We went on The Great Movie RIde which highlights so many of the old Hollywood films. I love good movies and often rewatch some of my favorites.  Then we headed back to Epcot but got off the boat at one of the resorts and walked the rest of the way to the park. And just in time for lunch so we tried some new food samples. Our favorite today was the chicken sausage and polenta from Canada. I would love to have that recipe but if you know me you know I don't really cook much. At a later stop for bratwurst on a pretzel roll in Germany we sat at a table with another couple. The one thing about this festival is that it's not always easy to find somewhere to sit. We enjoyed chatting with them for awhile and ended our day with creme brulee from France and another ride through Spaceship Earth. That never gets old.

Singin' In the Rain is one of my favorite movies. If you haven't seen it go rent it. Gene Kelly's dance in the rain is amazing.

Christmas Shaker Cards

Don't you just love Stampin' Up kits? I'm so glad I got the To You & Yours Shaker Card kit and that I decided to offer a class for it.  The kit is in the Holiday mini catalog and comes with all you'll need to make 18 cards. The stamp set To You & Yours Too is designed to coordinate with the shaker card kit. So I bought the stamp set and then the people who came to the class could use my stamp set. I have seen some online photos of cards that were done without the stamp set so you can do it but it's nice to have the stamps that go with the cards.

The kit, which sells for $24, was so popular that it sold out immediately and has been backordered but additional kits are expected in October 26th.

Even though my house is decorated for Halloween and Fall, playing some Christmas CD's helped us all get into that Christmas spirit. Such great fun we all had today.

A friend and I spent two days last week at Disney going to Epcot and Animal Kingdom. Living in FLorida and only an hour away from Disney makes their Florida residents annual pass a great deal. Epcot's Food & Wine Festival is going on now.

International-Food-and-Wine-FestivalThere are many different activities during this event and one of the most popular is the added tasting booths from different countries.  Although we have been many times before we had never tried the foods from the booths, instead opting to eat at one of the main restaurants. So this year we decided we had to sample some of them. Because you get small protions you can eat several different things. So many countries to choose from and so many different options. But we settled on moussaka from Greece, Lechon Asado (pork with pickled red onions and avocado) from Dominican Republic, lettuce wraps from South Korea, a lobster roll from the good old USA, a pork slider from Hawaii, and grilled shrimp from Australia. Yum! Our favorites were the moussaka and lettuce wraps which are the two top photos.

Our seond day we went to Animal Kingdom. Our first stop was the safari ride. It's so popular that lines can get quite long and Fast Passes go quickly. We got a fast pass for 1:30 but decided to rush back to it as soon as we got in the park and we got right in. I love this ride because the animals are all free to roam in large areas. You never know what you might see. While we saw many, the elephants and giraffes are my favorites.

antler animalI can't remember the exact name of this little guy but as we were trucking down the road he walked out in front of us and just stood there looking at us. Our safari driver tried slowly inching up hoping he would move and when he did he just walked down the road in front of us. They don't blow horns which is good. So after waiting a bit the driver was just getting ready to make a call when the animal moved off the side of the road. Our driver said they wait 10 minutes for an animal to move out of the way and then call and someone comes with food to entice them away.

While walking through the park we stopped to listen to a group performing. People were going up to have a picture taken with this man dancing so I did too. When I started to leave he grabbed my hand and made me dance with him. What fun.

We went to see the Lion King show which is another favorite and then it was time to think about lunch. We decided to go back to Epcot and get more moussaka and try some other things.

As they say, Disney is the "happiest place on earth" and we certainly had a great time. So much so that we are going back next week. Love that pass.

Go Wild Birthday Wishes

I love our Designer Series Paper and the 6" x 6" paper stacks. I hadn't used any of the Go Wild DSP yet so it was the inspiration for today's card. I often design a card after I have picked out a piece of paper. Once I decided to use this paper I immediately grabbed the Zoo Babies stamp set. The card base is Tip Top Toupe. I layered the DSP on a black cardstock mat and attached a piece of black ribbon and silver glimmer paper over the seam where the two pieces of paper meet. The rhinestones are colored with a black Sharpie marker.

CD Calendar

Every year I hold a special class for a CD Calendar.  I still have a few openings for the class on Monday, November 23rd at 9 AM. Let me know if you are interested in coming. The months are printed on Stampin' Up white cardstock and you stamp the designes on the top. Many thanks go to Catherine Harwood from 321Stamp who makes the templates for the calendar dates. Each calendar fits inside a cd jewel case which then becomes the stand for the calendar. The class fee is $15 for one calendar and $6 for each additional calendar. This is the set I did for this year (January and February have Dazzling Diamonds Glitter on them):
