What in the world? It's a swarm of dragonflies and butterflies. I'm getting ready for convention and working on swaps. Swapping cards with other demonstrators is one of the highlights and I come home with some great cards and new ideas. Each of these cute dragonflies had to be fussy cut. That means cut out by hand. Thankfully, there is a die to cut out the butterflies with my Big Shot. Convention is next week and I'm still working on the swaps. So far I have about 100 done. I always keep some of the work to do on the plane ride to Utah. Makes the time go by faster and invites comments from other passengers and flight attendants and gives me the opportunity to talk about doing what I love. I'll be posting the finished cards next week along with highlights from convention.
It’s What’s on Sale
Weekly Deals & Clearance Sale
Stampin' Up has added a few extras to the Weekly Deals and increased the % off. There are some great buys here.
And yesterday they added all new itmes to the clearance rack which you can see in my online store here. I had never purchased the Textured Boutique Embossing Machine but with it now half off decided I just had to have it. It is only for embossing – no die cutting. But it is much easier to move around, smaller than the Big Shot. A great deal at $14.99. You'll find many other great products so be sure to check them out.

Tuesday Weekly Deals
It's Tuesday and that means a new set of specials from Stampin' Up. I am going to be placing an order on Thursday evening so let me know if there is anything you want.
I love the Mini Treat Bag Thinlit Die. This is one of them I made along with a little card to slip inside the bag. It's the perfect size for a gift card or a treat or just to write a note and stick it inside. The layout for this project came from my upline, Catherine Harwood. They are so much fun to make and you get so many extra dies along with the die for the bag. And it's a super savings. Regularly $40 now just $30.
Happy Father’s Day
Just a quick post today wishing a Happy Father's Day to all Dads. My dad has been gone 4 years now and I miss him every day. When I was young he called me Princess. And he made me feel like one too. He was such a good, kind, and loving man. He had a beautiful tenor voice and sang in church and community theater. I was fortunate that he and my mother moved to Florida and lived just down the street from me for the last 14 years of his life. Everytime I went over there, which was often since we were 3 houses apart, he always told me he was so happy to see me. He blessed my life in so many ways. Miss you, Dad.
Open House Photos
Yesterday was my annual new catalog Open House and retired product sale. So many of my regular stampers go North for the summer and can you blame them, it's over 90 degrees here today. And very humid! So I was happy to have about twenty people come. I love doing this event and try to go with some kind of theme. Since my Make and Take card was using the stamp set Sprinkles of Life I went with a coordinating theme. I made cupcakes and put a stamped pick in each one. Of course the cupcakes has sprinkles on them. The picks were the frosting stamped image with a little stamped sentiment. You can see below. I also coataed pretzel sticks with candy melts and sprinkles. And we had some fruit kabobs and popcorn. My good friends Cheryl and Mike White brought some layered dip and chips to celebrate Flag Day. It was super yummy.
I usually just have bottled water to drink but even a bottle of water can be festive, right? The DSP from the new Color Collection Paper Stacks was perfect to tie in with the theme. I even found polka dot straws.
Everyone who comes to Open House gets a goodie bag. I use old cards or card fronts from convention swaps to decorate the bags and each bag had some treats plus one Stampin' Up product inside.
Here are some of the treats:
There was door prize drawings, new products on display and two Make and Takes. This card was cased from one I saw on Patty Bennett's blog. I just did my card on colored cardstock and Patty's was on white and I added some glitter to my ice cream. You can see Patty's blog here. I loved her tip of using a blender pen to go over the stamped cone image. It picks up just enough color from the image to add some lighter color to the cone.
My only regret is that I didn't take any photos during the Open House. There was just a lot going on and I was busy and didn't think about it until after everyone was gone. I will be updating my retired stamp list soon and will let you know when it's posted.
Thanks to all who came and to those of you who ordered and/or bought retired items. I love what I do and love my Stampin' Up friends.

With any new catalog there are so many things to want and if you're like me you just can't get it all. So Product Shares is a great way to get a little of a lot of different things for a fraction of the cost. Here's how it works: you have to reserve your share as there will be limited number of shares available. You can do this via email.
