Casing the Catalog – Oh So Eclectic

We all look for card ideas and with so many card samples being posted on social media sites it’s easy to find inspiration. But don’t forget that our catalog is full beautiful cards. CASE stands for Copy And Share Everything and today I decided to case a card right from our annual catalog. With a bit of a twist. The card is the one on page 16. I actually didn’t own the stamp set Oh so Eclectic and this is the card that pushed me into deciding to get it. Because I didn’t have all of the stamps used to create the card I made a few substitutions and I added a white mat to my card.

It’s not easy to tell from the photo but the swooshes in the background are actually gold embossed. I used two of the stamps from Waterfront for this.  To get the cut-work piece in the background you need to die cut the card stock and then fussy cut around it. I colored around the edges of the cat using a sponge dauber and Crumb Cake ink. The flower is from Happy Birthday Gorgeous and the sentiments from Dragonfly Dreams.
