I just returned from a cruise with a good friend. I didn't have access to internet while I was gone so here are a few of the pictures of this wonderful trip. We went to Haiti, Jamaica, and Cozumel, Mexico.
Each morning we started with room service coffe on the balcony. The center picture was at Dunns River Falls in Jamaica. I didn't climb the falls but it was fun watching those who did. The last photo is taken standing between my ship, Oasis of the Seas, and one of the Royal Caribbean sister ships. It was amazing to see these two ships so close together.
Fun Facts
- Oasis of the Seas is the largets ship in the world.
- It holds over 6000 guests and over 2000 crew. It's like a small floating city.
- For Thanksgiving they cooked 500 turkeys.
- !00,000 meals are served every day.
- There are 3 doctors and 5 nurses onboard.
One excersion in Cozumel was to a Mayan ruin and then to a beach. Our tour guide was full of information. I didn't like the iguanas (see one in the tree above). They are huge! When we went to the beach we had lunch at a restaurant where the tables and chairs were set up right in the sand. The water was crystal clear however the sand was so soft that you just sunk into it and it made walking a bit unsteady even in the water.
The entertainment onboard was outstanding. We saw several shows including CATS. And we managed to get a front row seat. It was so good and I believe equal to anything on broadway in NYC.
I managed to not get sea sick with the help of drugs but since getting off the ship I have been lightheaded and dizzy. I can actually feel the ship swaying at times. And yesterday I even started throwing up and had to cancel a stamp class. I don't know if that was related to the post cruise symptoms or not. Thankfully it didn't last more than a day.
