My mother, Janet Walker, peacefully passed away Wednesday, May 4th, just 3-1/2 weeks following the death of my sister. I am so thankful to have been able to stay with her following my sister's death. Mom was 94. She was a devoted and loving wife and mother, Nana to 7 grandchildren and GrandNana to 7 great grandchildren. I am blessed beyond words to have been her daughter. She taught me how to be a woman, a mother and a friend by her example. Mom had a strong faith and loved the Lord. She is now reunited with my dad, my brother and my sister and that gives me tremendous comfort. She will be cremated and her ashes scattered on the Blue Ridge Parkway in Asheville, NC, the same spot where Dad, my brother and my sister's ashes have been scattered. Should anyone wish, contributions in her memory can be made to Hospice of the Bluegrass, 2409 Members Way, Lexington, KY 40504. I thank them for the excellent care and support during the past two weeks. I also thank my amazing and loving family and my friends who kept us lifted in thoughts and prayers and even care packages. You have kept me going with your love and friendship.
So sorry for the loss of your mother. The loss of a sister and mother so close together must take your heart apart. My prayers are with you. May God bless you. Shirley
Thank you so much Shirley. Yes, losing two loved ones within 3 weeks was just so unbelievable.
It is always hard to say good-bye but what a wonderful life your Mother enjoyed too. Prayers coming your way.
Thank you so much Mary
