Great Sport – Great Birthday

I have always liked the stamp set Great Sport, in particular the main image with the wings and stars. I just thought I probably would not use the sport balls and so held off getting the set. I do have a grandson who plays high school sports but he doesn't get too excited about birthday cards unless they have money inside. I decided to get the stamp set anyway because in addition to the main image that I really like that circle in the center is perfect for so many different stamps. What is hard to see on this card is the Crystal Effects on the stars. It gives a glassy look when dry. It also is a very good adhesive. I just read today online where someone used it to adhere some clear stamps to wood blocks.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Speaking of that grandson, he turns 16 next month and that is a huge rite of passage in any teenager's life. I recently bought a new car so told his mother and him that I would sell my old Honda Civic at a very low price but that he had to help pay for part of the car. I believe people act more responsibly when they have a stake in something. So he worked babysitting this summer and gave me part of that money in addition to other money he has given. Today he came over to work in my yard and payment for that work is going towards the car. I am very proud that he is doing his part and not expecting his mother to just buy him the car. I tried to take a picture of him working but it was hot and he was sweaty and you know how teenagers are about pictures.
Thanks for stopping by,
