Say Goodbye to French Foliage

One of my all-time favorite stamp sets from my 10 years as a demonstrator is French Foliage and it’s being retired. I usually sell those stamp sets that retire but this one I definitely will be keeping. Last week I was on vacation and only had one day to prepare for classes this week so I made it easy on myself and decided to CASE my projects.  CASE stands for Copy And Share Everything and with so many talented demonstrators and about a gazillion cards posted on our demonstrator website I chose this beautiful card done by Carolyn Lindenmayer from Queensland, Australia.  I loved her card so much I didn’t change a thing about it. The colored strip is done my masking using sticky notes and sponging on ink.  I used Certainly Celery ink followed by Island Indigo. I can imagine so many other stamp sets and colors using this same technique.

French Foliage

Stamps: French Foliage, Perfectly Penned

Paper: White

Ink: Certainly Celery, Island Indigo, Soft Suede

Misc: Sponges, Sticky Notes

So a couple of days ago my daughter drove me by a house that has two emus in the back yard.  They are pretty big and this house is right in the middle of a neighborhood. Who keeps emus in a back yard for goodness sake! My daughter got out to take this picture and one of them came right up to the fence to check her out.
