Chalkboard cards are very popular right now and we did one in class this week using up some scraps leftover from last week’s card. They are fun and easy.
When I was designing this card I mistakenly picked out the stamp set Sketched Birthday which will be in the next annual catalog. So you are getting a sneak peak at a couple of the stamps (the balloon and celebrate). The birthday cake is from Bring on the Cake. To create the chalkboard effect stamp the images using Versamark ink. Be sure to use your embossing buddy on the card stock first so that you don’t wind up with stray white specks which is the result of static. Pour white embossing powder over the stamped images and heat. Using a Stampin’ sponge, lightly go over the black stock card with white ink giving it the appearance of chalk dust. Next draw white lines 1/4″ in from each edge using the white pencil from the watercolor pencils. Now you’re ready to punch out the pennants and attach.
Stamps: Bring on the Cake, Sketched Birthday
Ink: Versamark, White
Paper: Black, White, Pool Party, Sycamore Street Designer Series Paper
Misc: Pennant Punch, White Embossing Powder, White Twine, Mini Glue Dots, White Pencil
Have a Blessed Easter and thanks for stopping in.
