I made some cards recently for special friends and my daughter. When your friends are also stampers you try to come up with something special. I love this design that has become quit popular recently so decided to give it a try. I actually forgot to take photos of the cards so had to take them sitting on the table when we all went out for a birthday breakfast.
For this card I used the Tropical Chic stamp set and framelits and the coordinating DSP.
I used the Sea of Textures stamp set and framelits with the coordinating DSP for this card. I love the framelit that is the net and looks great with some added sponging and then wadded up to give it a crinkled texture.
This quick video will give you the instructions for creating the card base.
DSP:
- 3-1/4″ x 2″ (plus one white one for the backside to write a note on)
- 2-1/2″ x 2″ (cut 2)
- 2-1/2″ x 7/8″ (cut 2)
A few weeks ago I decided to give another friend and my daughter both gift cards to our new movie theater in town. I remembered the retired stamp set Ready to Pop and framelits which I had put in my retired sale and hoped that it didn’t sell. When I went to look through the leftovers from the sale there it was sitting right on top. I had never used the framelits to make the popcorn box and now that I see how stinkin’ cute it is I think I will keep it.
The gift card fit right inside the popcorn box and I added a little real popcorn.
A trip to the Dollar Tree for a few things to create this cute birthday gift.
Thanks for looking,
Those cards are super cute! I love the way they turned out. The “movie” basket is also waaay too cute!!!!
Great cards! That birthday basket was a perfect gift
Thanks Mary. My daughter has been working this whole past week so she actually hasn’t even gotten it yet.
Great cards, Beth. Are the measurements for the DSP here somewhere and my old eyes can’t find them? Great explanations on your video.
Thanks Carol. I updated the post.
